Quinlan

Jim Quinlan is an architect specialising in transport systems by day, however his long and abiding passion (should that be obsession?) has been in the music realm.

His travels far and wide, always lead him to seek out the company of musicians and artists and to absorb their particular culture; this is when he’s truly at his happiest. Over the years he’s managed to find time for performing and recording in Lima, Peru, running a blues club and gigging in London, playing in two bands in Dubai, jamming in Jerusalem or just grooving in St Louis. Wherever Jim finds himself, you can be sure he will be immediately immersed in and seeking out the best of the local scene.

Recording, composing, playing or even hosting radio sessions from his vast music collection, Jim’s creative skills and generosity of spirit are always inspirational and admired by the many who know him or have the privilege of working with him. Hailing from a small village called Ardattin in County Carlow, Ireland, Jim started playing music when given an old battered accordion by an uncle at just six years old. He now plays guitar, bass and keyboards and likes to dabble with the mandolin and charango. Recent years have seen him writing and recording music using his home studio and trusty laptop.
